About Us

Lotus Medical International (LMI) was established in 2008 as a registered company in the UK and the Kingdom of Thailand. Its founder Grainne Farrell is a Bachelor of Science who for over 10 years worked in the UK for AstraZeneca, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. In 2005 she took a career break and travelled around South East Asia where she fell in love with Thailand. Through her natural curiosity and medical background she was astounded by how complete, advanced and professional the Thai medical services were and how much more affordable they are compared to the European hospitals she had visited in her previous career.

"After talking to a patient who had travelled to Thailand for breast surgery on Koh Samui, I discovered it was possible to combine a surgical procedure with a holiday in this wonderful country for the same price as only the surgery back home. I thought that was really amazing".

After some information gathering Grainne came to the conclusion that providing high quality surgery combined with a recovery and relaxing holiday was a real possibility.

She decided to provide a comprehensive personalised service which starts with the initial enquiry then an evaluation, desired outcomes and surgery needs, review of your personal medical history, consultation with the most appropriate surgeon, an assessment of risks, quotation of costs and assisting with organisation of your entire journey to Thailand.

You will also be assigned your own personal LMI assistant who is available to answer any questions before arrival, meet you at the airport and look after you throughout your surgery, recovery and holiday time.  The personal assistant is there to help with anything you may need during your stay and answer any questions you may have once you have returned home.
